Youth at Gospel Center delivers remaining 90 bags of the 300 bags
The support was amazing even during a pandemic, thank you!
We are thrilled with the all the donations this year.
Please help us fill our backpacks with these most needed items
For our Friday night Youth meeting we had the opportunity to deliver the rest of the bags. It was a little later than anticipated but mom felt the experience the kids would have would make it worth waiting a couple of weeks for.
There were about 15 of us and Pastor Brad and Gary the two drivers. We arrived at the Hope Mission and there were many people already lined up waiting to go inside. We each grabbed a couple of bags and handed them out the the people. I think many of them were so surprised to be getting a ‘gift’ AFTER Christmas that they simply just stood there with a huge grin on their faces. We did get tons of thank you’s, smiles and even some hugs. I don’t think many of the youth had ever been part of an even like this and they were really moved to be able to hand out the bags.
We were lucky in that it was warm compared to -30 last year when all the people wanted to just get inside. This year it was only about -8 and so some hung around to check out their bags and thank us again. We had around 20 bags left over and so drove to the Mustard Seed and dropped them off there.
At Easter time we will do some small toiletry bags with a few more snacks. We were really fortunate this year to have a little money left over and a few stores will supply us with other goodies around Easter time. So till then, thank you to each and everyone who helped in one way or the other in making this our most successful year to date.
God bless you all.
