SUMMER SURPRISE
SUMMER SURPRISE. “Corpus Christi School`s Leadership Group” collected bottles all school year
The largest portion of the work we do at Bag of Hope falls between October and December as we actively seek out donations and sponsors. Behind the scenes, our team works year round. We are consistently watching for good deals on items that we can include and we work year round to spread the word. Apparently, many of our supporters have been doing the same thing.
We have the support of a wonderful Spruce Grove dentist, who provides us with a great number of Sample size toothpaste and toothbrushes to add to our bags. This is the second year he has given us such a thoughtful, yet simple, donation. We appreciate the efforts of Dr. Norm Bruneau and Kim Bonertz from Spruce Ridge Dental in helping us spread bright smiles and hope for Edmonton’s less fortunate.
While many families are running around in August, gathering school supplies and necessities for their children, the kind and thoughtful Dr. Khun was gathering backpacks and made a large donation to our organization. There are many opportunities for every one to give back. Taking advantage of buy one get one free (or half off) sales can be helpful. Buy the first item that you need and keep the second to donate. Helping out can be easier than you think.
Another fine example of a supporter who works year round to help us is Edith Cree. She has been working with her co-workers to collect various items throughout the year. Small acts, like saving the shampoos and soaps from the hotels they stay in during business travel and many other donations amounted to eleven full boxes of items that we are proud to include in our backpacks.
December is our delivery to Jasper Place Health and Wellness. Alberta winters are cold and I’m sure we can all agree that thoughts of the homeless in Edmonton increase as the temperature drops. The organizations we support are also working year round to help our fellow Edmontonians in times of need.
Bag of Hope is honoured to be in the thoughts of so many through the entire year. We can’t thank you enough. Your donations help us become a success each year. Your donations help us reach our goals. Your donations help us spread Hope to Edmonton’s Homeless and less fortunate every year.
Thank you.
